Bogey "The Small Dog Wonder"

This is Bogey's story.  Bogey was playing "dodge the car" in a neighborhood street when we happened upon him.  He had just effortlessly dodged an older pick-up when he dared us to play chicken.  I stopped the car, conceding the game of chicken, and my wife Amy opened the passenger side door and grabbed a little curled tail before it could run under our car.  She yanked his little butt into the car, and I got my  first good look at him, boy has he a cutie!  Someone once remarked, after seeing Bogey, "It looks like a Dachshund got hold of a Chocolate Lab,"  and that's probably the best way to describe the little guy.  He won our hearts then and has been a family member ever since.

Bogey's strengths have to be his playful personality and his boundless energy.  He is always ready to play, be it with a disc, a ball, tug, wrestling, or big dog harassing, Bogey is always ready!  And he never loses at anything, if you don't believe me, just ask him!  Oddly enough, catching discs came naturally to Bogey as we've never formally trained him to catch discs.  He just watched the other dogs play, and then one day came to us and asked to play.  Amazingly, he was able to do much of what we working on with the other dogs.  Because his body stature doesn't lend itself well to disc play, Bogey was once described as the jester of the disc dog world, "his legs are too short, he's ears too long, and he always makes you laugh".  Bogey is truly an anomaly in the disc dog world.

In his travels, Bogey has won many awards and many more hearts.  His outgoing, yet cocky attitude, and playful personality appeal to almost everyone he meets.  And his disc skills ain't half bad either.  This winning combination, charm & disc catching skills, has launched Bogey  into the limelight on more than one occasion.  He makes numerous TV appearances each year, and performs at demos, shows and parties.  When Bogey is not performing, he is hanging with the other dogs in our family and stealing their Nylabones and burying them for his later enjoyment.  But hey, that's our Bogey!  He never forgets his roots.
